Events

Throughout the year we run a programme of events for our members these include: Portfolio Surgeries, Screenings, Q&A sessions, networking events and our annual awards event. We also support our ‘friends’ events that aim to inform as well as entertain us.

We only like to support UK Government led schemes and non-profit organisation’s events. We will advertise to members free of charge events that will be of interest to them. Please send in events that our membership might find interesting.

We also host Master Classes, special guest Lectures and ad-hoc informal socials to just get together for a drink and chin wag.

BFDG Design Forum Awards Series – A ‘Short’ Journey

In the first Design Forum of our 2024 series we talk to the Art Department team behind the cyberpunk sci-fi thriller 'Recursive Dreams', winners of the 'Short Film' category at the recent 13th BFDG Production Design Awards.

PD - Olavo Abrantes, AD Jeannie Chandler and SDs Eleanor Dolan and Francesca Jones will discuss their creative journey and the challenges they faced in making their award winning short film with an Art Dept budget of 20K.

BFDG Design Forum Award Series – ‘Heat & Dust’

In the second Design Forum of our 2024 series we talk to the creative team behind the BFDG Award winning Commercial, Crowdstrike Troy.

PD Ged Clarke, AD Abdou Achir and Stylist Amin Rharda will discuss how they designed and built a 40 ft high Trojan horse and the gates of Troy on location in Morocco whilst contending with the challenges of a sandstorm and temperatures of up to 50 degrees.

NTU Graduate Festival 24

Nottingham School of Art and Design's Graduate Festival 24 is taking place in the Ballroom at Pinewood Studios on Thursday 30th May. Showcasing work from their BA (Hons) Design for Film and Television students, it's a celebration of this new generation of creatives. Entry is free and the invitation is open to all.
